Chicago Tribune

CHICAGO — A firefighter was injured after a fire broke out in a home in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The blaze started around 2:37 a.m. in a 1 ½-story home in the 12200 block of South Sangamon Street, said Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Curtis Hudson.

Firefighters struck out the flames around 3:02 a.m.

But in the process, one firefighter suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital for treatment, Hudson said.

No one else was injured in the fire, and no was reportedly displaced from the home, Hudson said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
